During an MRI of the orbits we are focusing on the eye sockets.
The MRI of orbits gives detailed pictures of
- Abnormalities of the eye sockets
- Cancer disease of eye sockets, edema and inflammation of fatty tissue
- Damage, abnormalities or inflammation of the optic nerve
- Abnormalities, tumorous disease of the eyeball
- Eye muscle enlargement
MRI of the orbits helps to detect abnormalities of the eye sockets and eye ball, damage of the optic nerve, enlargement of eye muscles, tumorous disease of the eye ball and eye socket, edema and inflammation of eye socket.
Orbit MRI scan or MRI of the eye sockets may be necessary in the following cases:
- Visual disorders
- Edema, inflammation
- Tumors in the eye or in the eye socket
In addition to plain (native MRI) examination, the contrast-enhanced examination is also available.
