MRI of the hip joint makes possible the detailed examination of the injury of soft tissue, inflammations and tumors. It helps to prove presence of edema, abrasions, degenerative changes, early state of necrosis capitis femoris.
Hip MRI scan or MRI of the hip joint may be necessary in the following cases:
- Pain in the hip
- Pain in the thigh (without previous injuries)
- Before and after hip prosthesis surgery
- Joint pain
In addition to plain (native MRI) examination, the contrast-enhanced examination is also available.
