MRI of the hip makes possible the detailed examination of the hip joint. With the MRI scan of the hip the injury of soft tissue, inflammations and tumors can be detected. It helps to prove presence of edema, abrasions, degenerative changes, early state of necrosis capitis femoris.
Hip MRI scan may be necessary in the following cases:
- Pain in the hip
- Pain in the thigh (without previous injuries)
- Before and after hip prosthesis surgery
- Joint pain
In addition to plain (native MRI) examination, the contrast-enhanced examination is also available.
